This is a vinyl LP pressing of The Hits by Nina Simone. This set presents some of Nina Simone’s greatest recordings, among them the perennial “I Loves You, Porgy,” which reached #2 in the UK and #18 in the USA in 1959. Interestingly, “My Baby Just Cares for Me” was not a hit when it was first recorded; however, after director Ridley Scott featured the song in a 1987 Chanel commercial starring Carole Bouquet, it became one of Simone’s biggest hits—nearly 30 years after its original release.
