This is a double vinyl LP pressing of The Carnegie Hall Concert by Alice Coltrane. The Carnegie Hall Concert is a previously unreleased recording of a historic 1971 performance. Originally commissioned by Impulse, the multi-track recording was not released until now. The concert features an all-star ensemble including Pharoah Sanders, Archie Shepp, Jimmy Garrison, Cecil McBee, Ed Blackwell, and others. This event was part of a triple bill, sharing the stage with Laura Nyro and The Rascals, and was produced by Sid Bernstein, the promoter of the first Beatles concert in the U.S.
