This is a red vinyl LP pressing of Sunday at the Village Vanguard by the Bill Evans Trio. While the Bill Evans, Scott LaFaro, and Paul Motian trio recorded two legendary studio albums, their collaboration reached its peak during their June 25, 1961, engagement at the Village Vanguard in New York. Tragically, LaFaro died in a car accident just days later, on July 6, 1961, at the age of 25. Evans was so devastated by his bassist's death that he stepped away from the studio for months before eventually forming a new trio. This superb album, Sunday at the Village Vanguard, features a selection of pieces from that historic session personally curated by Evans himself.
