The American rock singer-songwriter originally released his fourth studio album on June 2, 1978, via Columbia Records. Mainly produced by Springsteen and co-produced by Jon Landau, the album was recorded at Atlantic Studios and Record Plant in New York City. 

Springsteen has sold more than 71 million albums in the U.S. and over 140 million worldwide, making him the 27th best-selling music artist of all time as of 2024. His accolades include 20 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes, an Academy Award, and a Special Tony Award.
