The band’s iconic debut album showcases cleanly picked guitars, intricate drumming, and Mike Kinsella’s heartfelt vocals (also of Owen and Cap'n Jazz). Recorded at Private Studios in Champaign with producer Brendan Gamble (Braid), the release cemented the trio—Kinsella, Steve Holmes, and Steve Lamos—as pioneers of emo and math rock.
